Net Pension to be transferred to a different provider in due course
Net Pension to be transferred to a different provider in due course
In the Net Pension scheme, you accrue pension voluntarily. This applies to the portion of your salary above the maximum salary for which you can accrue a gross pension. Earlier this year, employer TNO decided to discontinue the Net Pension scheme as of 1 January 2026. The Works Council approved this decision. As a result, the Net Pension scheme will, in due course, be transferred to another provider.
Background
The current provider, Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), will cease offering this scheme. In addition, AZL has indicated that, following the transition to the new pension system, it will no longer administer any net pension schemes. For this reason, the employer, TNO, asked the pension fund to arrange for the Net Pension scheme to be transferred to another provider. Meanwhile, ASR PPI has been selected for the accrual phase and Aegon Levensverzekeringen N.V. for the benefit payment phase.
Who is affected by this?
Pensioenfonds TNO will transfer the Net Pension assets of all participants to the new provider in one collective value transfer. This applies to the following groups:
- Anyone currently accruing, or who has previously accrued, capital in the Net Pension scheme with Pensioenfonds TNO.
- Anyone currently receiving pension benefits from the Net Pension scheme; this portion of your pension will be transferred to the new provider.
Basic pension scheme remains with Pensioenfonds TNO
Your pension accrual or pension payments from the basic pension scheme will remain with Pensioenfonds TNO. AZL will continue to manage the administration and make pension payments. This will not change.
