Will you be retiring soon?
Will you be retiring soon?
On 1 July 2026, we will switch over to the new pension scheme. If you want to retire during the transition period, read here what is important for you to know.
You decide when your pension should go into effect. About three months before you receive your state pension (AOW), you will receive a letter from us with detailed information about your pension. That letter will include your expected pension and your options. The amounts shown are associated with your current pension scheme. Your pension is not expected to be lower and could possibly be higher under the new scheme.
Check out this page to find out more about your options. You can also go to My Pension to calculate your own forecast on the basis of various scenarios. These calculations are also still based on the current pension scheme.
If you wish to take your pension, indicate your choices on the ‘Your options’ form attached to the letter and send the form to TNO Pension Fund.
- It will not be possible to make any pension forecast calculations online in July and August.
Between 1 July and no later than 31 August, you cannot use My Pension to make any online pension calculations. If you wish to prepare a pension forecast online, you must do so no later than 30 June 2026.
Note: download the forecast and save the file on your computer!
If you wish to take your pension in October 2026 or later, you can log in to our website starting on 1 September 2026. Once you are logged in, you can make your calculations using the amounts and choices associated with the new pension scheme from then on. You can then also apply for your pension online. - How does ‘applying for pension’ work around the switch?

3. The amount of your pension may change under the new scheme
The amounts in the letter about your pension and My Pension are the amounts associated with the current pension scheme. When we switch on 1 July 2026, we will need some time to convert all pensions to the new scheme. The amounts may then change as a result. As things now stand, your pension will not be reduced in any case.
Just before the first payment associated with the new pension scheme, you will receive notification from us stating you how high your pension will be under the new scheme. If you are already receiving pension in July, you will still receive the amount associated with the current scheme.
The table below shows when you will receive the pension associated with the new scheme.
| Month | The amount you will receive |
|---|---|
| July 2026 | You will receive the pension associated with the current scheme. |
| August 2026 | You will receive the pension associated with the new scheme.
If you also already received a pension from us in July 2026, you will also receive a settlement for your July 2026 pension. |
| September 2026 to March 2027, inclusive |
You will receive your pension associated with the new scheme. You will receive this amount every month until March 2027. We adjust your pension every year in April. |
